The day my drone flew away!!
My mum won a drone in a golf competition and she gave it to me. I was excited and over the moon because I had always wanted a drone. We charged the batteries for one hour and forty minutes. I waited and waited a waited....until I could not wait anymore.
When it was finally charged we did a test run inside first. I got hit in the arm because it was spinning and whizzing all over the place. We had no control over it at all.
Outside on the lawn we had more space to manoeuvre it. Mum had a turn but unfortunately she didn't know how to work it so couldn't bring it down from a great height. The next thing we New it was soaring through the air over roof tops and hedges and garages and fences until it was completely and totally out of our sight.
Mum was panicking and I was devastated because I had just got it. That night mum and I searched for it. Over hedges, fences, in backyards, under trees,in long grass and on roofs. We knocked on doors and asked our neighbours. But their was no sign of my drone anywhere. I was sad.
The next day my grandad came to help us look for it. We retraced our steps again and hunted high and low, east and west and north and south. NO SIGN.... we came home empty handed.
For two days I thought about my drone and where it had got to.....
THEN... there was a knock at the door. Our neighbour had found it in his backyard under a scrub.... I was RAGING WITH HAPPINESS!!!
My drone had come home.
